In September 2018, 30 pupils from Mahlatsi Secondary School came to NHS to receive extra physical science classes. These extra classes proved to be a positive contributing factor in reaching a 100 per cent pass rate in physical science in 2018. The principal of Mahlatsi Secondary School, Mrs. F.P. Nkosi sent a letter of appreciation and also expressed the need to collectively collaborate with NHS teachers in order to find ways to achieve better results in other subjects.
On Tuesday 26 February 2019 NHS facilitated an afternoon with Mrs. Nkosi and some of his teachers. “Our academics is the facilitating force that brings about dreams”, says Mr. Willie van der Merwe (Deputy Principal). It is our aim to share our knowledge and resources in order to uplift and empower other schools in our community so that they may also reach their full potential. By working together, schools, families, and communities can prepare for a more promising future.
